Author's New Release Close to Heart
Award-winning author Shirley Jump had no idea when she sold her 12th novel, Rescued by Mr. Right, a story about a woman who cared for her dying parents, that she would be writing that book at the same time she cared for her own dying mother. Not only was the book set in the city where Jump's parents met but, ironically, it also chronicled the love story of Jump's grandparents.
βI didn't realize any of this until after my mother had died and I went back home to finish the book,β she says.βIt was literally like pulling teeth to write this book, but I did it, as a testament to my mother. It was as if God was forcing me to work through my grief.β
Jump started the book before her mother was felled by a stroke and heart attack.During the nearly two months she spent at her mother's bedside in Massachusetts, she worked on it as a means of keeping busy, until her mother died last fall. The book will be released October 10th, 2006 by Silhouette Romance, one year and one day after her mother's death.
Rescued By Mr. Right received a four-star review from Romantic Times Book Club magazine.
